You spend five minutes in your wardrobe in the morning, and pull out a few favourite pieces that you effortlessly fashion into a work-appropriate yet -you- outfit. Your organised closet has saved you so much time in the morning that you’re able to give your sister a call for a good catch up while sitting down to a healthy breakfast, before heading off to start your day.
During your commute, you catch sight of yourself in a mirror, and love the reflection of the person staring back at you – not only does your sweater really bring out your eyes, but your grandmother’s brooch shows off your love of vintage while also honouring her memory.
At work, you overhear two of your co-workers talking about you – “she always looks so chic, what is her secret!?”. And then because you’re feeling super confident, you don’t hesitate to put your hand up during your 3pm meeting with your boss and run an idea you’ve been thinking about past her – she ends up loving it and you know you’re on track for that raise you’ve been eyeing.
Later on, while grabbing dinner with your favourite human, they comment on your dress – they think you look REALLY good and are wondering if it’s new. It’s not – you’ve just paired it with a belt, totally changing the silhouette.
Before you drift off to sleep, you lie in bed thinking about how great your day was, and how excited you are for the future.
But at the same time you’re kind of like: “yeah, that -dream perfect day life- sounds great, Lucy … but I have absolutely no idea how to make it a reality.”
… have no idea what your “personal style” is or what kind of clothes you like. You feel completely overwhelmed at the idea of trying to “figure it out”, because you have no idea where to start.
… feel like everyone else seems to “know what to do instinctively”, but you don’t. You don’t know what it means for clothes to “fit”, which pieces go together or what suits you. You don’t “get it” and kind of worry if there’s something wrong with you.
… really want to start dressing your truth or make a change to your style, but worry that you’ll “get it wrong” or “fail” and others might laugh at you behind your back.
… spend ages stressing about what to wear in the morning, only to end up dissatisfied, wearing the same outfit as the day before, or settling for your trusty “jeans and a hoodie” combo. You’re in a massive rut, and it’s starting to affect other areas of your life too.
… feel like you have “clothes” and not “outfits”. Your wardrobe is a non-cohesive mess, and you start your day feeling flustered and exasperated after wrestling with so many disparate styles and identities.
You’ll learn everything you need to:
… quickly and easily put together outfits that suit you and reflect your personality;
… find your personal style;
… identify your best colours, shapes and styles.
… learn how to shop with your style and favourite colours, shapes and styles in mind (both online and in store – hint: you often want to combine the two!)
… refine your closet so that it contains only clothes that you absolutely love; and
… update your closet to suit your future life changes;
You will:
… gain the confidence you need to step out of your fashion comfort zone and try new things (which will have you kicking goals in other areas of your life too – hello, new relationship or promotion!);
… spend way less time stressing about your wardrobe and what to wear, leaving you with more time for other important stuff, like your family, relationships and your career; and
… be the best dressed person in the room, and the envy of all your friends and family (and all those other people that you know low-key stalk you on social media) 😉
… save a tonne of money – no more buying a bunch of clothes that you’ll never wear again!
We’ll start off with an initial survey, so that I can get to know you! You’ll let me know:
- any particular likes or dislikes (for example, particular colours or shapes, or “styles” you have seen on other people or tried yourself). If you don’t know, that’s okay – we will work together to get a sense of this later;
- the link to your Pinterest fashion board (if you have one) or any the names of any “influencers” or other fashionistas you admire (if applicable);
- a few details about you lifestyle (WFH? Office has a dress code? Attend a lot of events? Have young kids? etc.)
- your biggest concern / reason for hiring me;
- your goals for our session and moving forward; and
- how much you usually like to spend per item of clothing (helpful for me when giving recommendations).
Then, we’ll get together for a 3 hour 1-on-1 video consultation (this can be split into two sessions if you’d prefer), during which we will:
- try on some clothes! I’ll then help you decide whether you’d like to keep each item;
- discuss your best colours and shapes;
- work towards defining your personal style (based on items in your closet and any inspiration images);
- mix and match your clothing items together to create stylish and flattering outfits that reflect your personality; and
- identify any gaps in your closet.
Following our session, I will prepare “Your Style File” – a written report setting out:
- a summary of our discussions and advice provided during our video call;
- 10 specific items that would work well in your closet (including a picture, brand and link to purchase);
- a lookbook with 20 outfits illustrating how to wear the recommended items using clothes as similar as possible to your own items.
$500.00 AUD seems really expensive. Do you offer discounts? At present, no – working with me is too valuable to discount. The knowledge you’ll gain through working with me will stay with you for life – saving you thousands of dollars that would have otherwise been spent on unsuitable clothing / poor purchasing decisions.
Not to mention, you’ll gain a serious amount of self-confidence, which will set you up for success in all aspects of your life, from your relationships to your career (and you can’t put a price on that!). Plus, we offer a generous returns policy in the event that you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, so your investment is 100% risk free.
Do you offer a payment plan? Yes, we offer 3-month payment plans for our Sort, Style & Suggest Personal Styling Service.
What if I book in for a session with you and I’m not 100% completely satisfied? We have a generous returns policy, which you can read HERE.
I am totally overwhelmed / don’t know anything about style / don’t get anything about fashion, but I really want to make a change. Can you help me? Yes, of course! I’ve worked with hundreds of women, from all different kinds of backgrounds – some fashionistas, and many who were just starting out on their fashion journey. I will “meet you where you are”, so to speak. Our 1-on-1 session will be tailored to you, your questions and your concerns. We can spend as much time as you like talking through the “fashion fundamentals” (garment features, colour, shape, texture) and the very basics of putting together outfits.
Are you going to tell me to throw away my whole wardrobe or get me to buy a bunch of stuff Nope, definitely not (unless you WANT to throw away your whole wardrobe or buy a bunch of stuff). Unless you’re a gazillionaire, it’s usually not feasible to throw away EVERYTHING that you own, even if you plan to replace a lot of items – what do you wear in the meantime?
Whether you keep or toss each item of clothing is completely up to you and will depend on your closet goals (maybe you really hate everything you own, maybe a lot of what you have can be tweaked or repurposed, or maybe you love most of your clothes but just need help pairing items together).
It’s my job to help you work with what you’ve already got. I will help you identify gaps in your closet, and give you some recommendations, but that doesn’t mean you need to buy anything if you don’t want to do so. You can just keep the list handy as inspiration, or use it years into the future.
What if I have a lot of clothes? Do I have to try on everything? Depending on the size of your closet, we can try on everything, or you can select pieces you would like to try-on beforehand (I’d recommend picking some of you favourite and least favourite items, spanning different settings, such as work, weekend, semi-formal etc.)
I’m not sure if I’m ready to take the plunge / I’m not sure if now is a good time for me. You’ve seen the details of our services on our website, checked out our social media, or maybe even read my free material after signing up to my mailing list. You’ve got enough info to help you decide. Remember, you can always reach out to me via email or social media if you’re still a little unsure. And for extra peace of mind, you can read over our generous returns policy HERE.
But, if you’re feeling like now “isn’t a good time”, remember that it’s never going to feel like the right time – there won’t be that one perfect day where everything aligns and you know exactly what you have to do. You need to choose to make TODAY that perfect day.
I’m a trans-woman / identify as non-binary / am a person of colour / have struggled with an eating disorder / struggle with my relationship with my body. Are your services for me? Yes! We are a safe and welcoming space for everyone. If you have any particular concerns, you are more than welcome to get in touch to discuss with me prior to booking, or to make note of your concern on your initial survey.
